On Monday, October 11th, 2021, the National Commission for Human Rights held a meeting with the One UN Resident Coordinator, Mr Fode Ndiaye who was accompanied by Mr. Komi Gnondoli, the Senior Human Rights Advisor, Office of High Commissioner for Human Rights. The purpose of their visit was to discuss with the Commission about its missions, organization and functioning. The discussions focused on the mandate of the Commission that is the promotion of Human Rights, the protection and monitoring of Human Rights, the new mandate of the Commission as a National Preventive Mechanism, the achievement of the year and future priorities of the Commission and field of cooperation with UN System in Rwanda.
After the Commission briefed them about how it fulfills its mandate, its achievement and its priorities, the guests were delighted with the achievements of the Commission, they discussed the collaboration framework and way forward according to the priorities of the Commission. The Resident Coordinator assured good collaboration with the Commission.
